Advances in supercapacitors and IT systematic analysis
Supercapacitors, also known as electrochemical capacitors, have emerged as crucial components in the realm of energy storage technology driven by advancements in science and technology. Unlike conventional batteries, which prioritize energy density but often face challenges such as limited power density, slow charge/discharge rates, and finite cycle life, supercapacitors offer distinct advantages. They are renowned for their high-power density, rapid charge/discharge capabilities, and extended cycle life. These attributes make them highly promising for applications in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and consumer electronics. This review aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of supercapacitors by delving into their fundamental principles, optimization strategies, and application potentials. It will discuss the electrochemical mechanisms underlying electrochemical double-layer capacitors and pseudo capacitors, contrasting them with traditional battery technologies. Furthermore, it will analyse various electrode materials and electrolytes, highlighting their impacts on supercapacitor performance. Optimization techniques related to electrode structure, electrode-electrolyte interfaces, and module design will also be examined. Lastly, the review will explore the diverse applications of supercapacitors, from enhancing transportation efficiency to improving energy storage solutions and advancing consumer electronics. By consolidating current knowledge, this review aims to stimulate further research and innovation in supercapacitor development and deployment.
