Design of 1400-1450nm fiber laser based on MATLAB numerical simulation
This study aims to design a bismuth-doped fiber laser with an operating wavelength in the range of 1400-1450nm to solve the problem of limited spectral coverage in the current optical fiber field. This study uses the quantum electrodynamics model of doped bismuth ions to obtain the power propagation equation representing laser power propagation in optical fibers and the rate equation representing electron transition rate, and uses MATLAB to write a program to calculate and analyze the propagation behavior of pump light and laser in the optical fiber. Through experimental verification, the laser achieves efficient laser output in the E band. The theoretical pump threshold power is 0.1005W, and the laser power is linearly related to the pump power. The results of the research shows that the laser designed by using bismuth ions as doping particles has potential application value in communications in extended band, and can significantly improve the performance of optical fiber communications, which provide more options for future high-speed and large-capacity communications.
