Research on FPGA-based detector for endangered birds

In this paper, a monitoring system has been developed using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) technology with the objective of protecting endangered birds. The system was designed by extending the capabilities of FPGAs and applying them to detect bird calls. To create the system, the researcher read and referenced various relevant papers, including studies on bird calls and signal analysis using FPGAs. The paper also looked at existing Wireless Acoustic Sensor Network (WASN) systems to determine their strengths in signal analysis, as well as referencing other systems that have strengths in signal analysis. Based on this, a novel FPGA-based detector is simulated. The detector can effectively determine the location and number of endangered birds in the area by analysing their calls. In addition, the system can self-improve through autonomous learning by neural networks to automatically update the data. The monitoring system can greatly assist animal protection organisations in tracking and protecting endangered bird species.
