Development of ARINC 429 data interface unit
To deal with the lacking network config between two mechatronic devices, which will lead the disconnection between them, a data interface unit needs to be developed. Since the airborne mechatronic devices use ARINC 429 protocol as the data bus typically, the aim of the data interface unit is to transfer the ARINC 429 message from one mechatronic device to another directly as a bypass of the avionics network. For transfer a message from avionics device A to device B, its necessary to have a physical connection, and the knowledge of the interface configuration of these two devices is necessary also. Therefore, this paper will introduce a ARINC 429 data interface unit mainly with two parts, first the development of physical hardware product, and second, the development of message transfer software. Generally speaking, the data interface unit mentioned in this paper is a device with ARINC 429 board cards and a message transfer software hosted.
