An improved current integral mean fault diagnosis method of redundant PMSM for aviation electric drive applications

This paper studied the current signal fault characteristics of open circuit, gain, and offset faults in phase current sensors of three redundant permanent magnet synchronous motors for aviation drive applications. A set of improved current integral mean fault diagnosis algorithms is designed, and fault-tolerant control strategies for open circuit faults in current sensors and online compensation schemes for gain and offset faults are studied. On the basis of the traditional integral mean method, fau lt counting and adaptive threshold modules are introduced to achieve rapid identification and accurate positioning of three type s of basic faults in current sensors. The fault diagnosis time is compressed to 40% of the fundamental current cycle, which is nearly 60% higher than the 100% fundamental current cycle diagnosis time of the traditional current integral mean method.
