Research on the application of ultrafine dry powder fire extinguishing technology in aviation
In this work, based on the urgent need for the substitution of halon fire extinguishing agent in the field of aviation fire protection, sodium bicarbonate ultrafine dry powder fire extinguishing agent with a D90particle size of less than 7μm was prepared by supersonic jet grinding combined with low-cost dry chemical modification. According to the physical and chemical properties of this type of fire extinguishing agent, a supporting aircraft power compartment fire extinguishing system was designed, and the application potential of this type of fire extinguishing agent under the special needs and restrictions of aviation scenarios was emphatically explored. The results show that in aviation application scenarios, this ultrafine dry powder fire extinguishing agent has excellent fluidity, dispersion property, hydrophobicity, fire extinguishing efficiency which is better than halon and good cleanability.
