Ventilation system design for a certain type of freighter aircraft
When a civil aircraft was converted from a passenger to a freighter version, modifications were made to the cabin ventilation ducting network in order to meet airworthiness regulations and to fulfill specific functions. The modification affected the pressure in the mixing manifold and the flow distribution among the ducting networks, so the performance of the ducting network needed to be evaluated. This paper employs the Flowmaster tool to assess the impact of varying parameters on the mixing manifold pressure and the flow distribution, with the objective of identifying an optimal modification that aligns with performance specifications.
