Feasibility study of an electric propulsion transport category aircraft
Current research on electric propulsion aircraft mainly focuses on light and small aircraft. For the transport aircraft applicable to CCAR25, the energy chain operating characteristics and energy architecture are quite different. In this paper, through the case design method, the propulsion form, power source, energy chain structure and parameter selection of electric propulsion transportation aircraft are designed and demonstrated. The results show that the design of 10-ton electric propulsion aircraft can be realized with the current technology level as the base point, but the weight of the empty aircraft has a certain disadvantage compared with the traditional turboprop aircraft, and the hybrid electric propulsion is a more reasonable form of propulsion architecture; the subsequent need to be optimized through the aircraft-level, make the electric propulsion transportation class aircraft competitive.
