Effect of insect net on the response performance of point type photoelectric smoke detectors
As detection technology advances, facilities that require early fire detection, such as energy storage power plants and airline cargo compartments, require fire detectors to respond at ever-increasing speeds. To address the hysteresis phenomenon of smoke detectors in the process of fire detection, this paper starts from the structure of the detector's insect net and carries out an experimental study in the standard smoke box to explore the influence of the insect net on the response performance of point-type photoelectric smoke detectors under different maximum obscurity. The experimental results show that the insect net impedes the flow of smoke, reduces the output signal of the detector, increases the hysteresis time of the smoke detector, and the detector response is advanced by 27-48s when there is no insect net, and this hysteresis phenomenon is more obvious when the smoke concentration is lower. This provides the basis and method for the selection and design of the photoelectric smoke detector.
