Analysis of the influence of partial discharge of DC positive polarity aviation cable on civil aircraft EWIS design
New energy aircraft are characterized by their cleanliness and low carbon emissions, making them a focal point in aviation technology. With a focus on reducing cable loss and weight, increasing the voltage level has been identified as an effective approach. However, higher voltage levels, in conjunction with complex flight environments such as pressure, temperature, humidity, and low field strength, can lead to partial discharge in aviation cables, particularly corona discharge. This article employs a hybrid fluid dynamics model and plasma electrochemical reaction to model the partial discharge of high-voltage aviation DC cables. Subsequently, numerical calculations are conducted on the partial discharge process of high-voltage DC aviation cables. The impact of environmental temperature, air pressure, and voltage level on the partial discharge reaction of cables is analyzed using the size of the partial discharge pulse current as the evaluation index. Based on the calculation results, design suggestions are proposed for the high-voltage EWIS system, aiming to prevent the occurrence of partial discharge in high-voltage aviation cables and ensure the safe transmission of electrical energy.
