A study of fast response characteristics for respiratory state identification technology

The fighter's demand oxygen system has the problem of high respiratory resistance when supplying oxygen according to the pilot's respiratory rhythm, which will significantly affect the pilot's respiratory comfort and combat mentality. Based on the space limitations in the cockpit, a respiratory state identification system is designed and built, and the airflow sensor is selected to collect respiratory data under different respiratory states. The relationship between data and states is thus established and helps to clarify the logic of respiratory state identification. The built system has been experimentally verified to have high identification precision and fast response speed, which can greatly improve the oxygen supply response efficiency. Besides, the system possesses an additional function for identifying respiratory abnormality and by which can the pilot's physiological and psychological status be grasped. This work may have significant implications for multimodal physiological monitoring of pilots.
