Investigation of the effect of variable stagger angle on power generation performance of electric ducted fan
This paper investigates the effect of variable stagger angle on the power generation performance of an electric ducted fan (EDF). Using numerical simulations, the study explores how different stagger angles influence the speed range and power output of the fan. The results indicate a parabolic relationship between fan output power and speed for each stagger angle, with specific angles yielding optimal performance. For instance, a 0° stagger angle achieves 48.5 kW at 750 rpm, while a 90° angle reaches 101.8 kW at -1000 rpm. The study also integrates a multiphase square wave motor to balance power density and performance across various operating conditions, enhancing overall system efficiency. This work contributes to the development of efficient, sustainable propulsion systems for new energy aircraft, highlighting the potential of variable stagger angle EDFs in reducing fuel consumption and improving energy management.
