Ground smoking test study on engine intake performance effected by fuselage under cross wind condition
Under crosswind conditions, the left and right engines exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) may be inconsistent under MTO thrust level of a certain type of civil aircraft. A ground test utilize flow field visualization technique is taken to study the flow field near the engine inlet under crosswind conditions to study the reason of such phenomenon. By analyzing the test results, it is found that air flow pass around the fuselage could lead to the airflow separation at some position of the engine inlet as well as the pre-swirl flow upstream the engine inlet, which could lead to the change of working environment for the engine inlet, and may cause the EGT inconsistent.
