The human factor evaluation guide for the civil aircraft head-up displays
As one of the new navigation technologies promoted by the CAAC, HUD plays an important role in improving flight quality and enhancing flight situational awareness. However, in recent years, with the concern of the airworthiness authorities on the human factors in the cockpit, designers have realized the importance of the evaluation of the human-machine interface in the design, integration and airworthiness certification process. This paper introduces the similarities and differences between HUD and HDD, analyzes the potential human-factor issues in the application of the HUD, and puts forward the guidance for the human-factor evaluation method and scenario selection for HUD, aiming at improving the integrity of the HUD evaluation work and the confidence of the HUD application in the cockpit.
