Study on the flow distribution characteristics of two-phase thermosyphon loop with multiple evaporators based on AMESim
As the electronic device in aviation develops, multiple evaporators are needed for multiple sources appeared in the cooling system of electronic device. The flow distribution characteristics of a multi evaporators system will affect its heat transfer capacity. To study the flow distribution characteristics of two-phase thermosyphon loop (TPTL) with multiple evaporators, a simulation model is established based on AMESim. In this paper, the flow distribution characteristics were studied by applying asymmetric heat load and dynamic heat load, changing the height difference between evaporators and condenser. the results show that: 1) When applying asymmetric heat load, the flow distribution of multiple evaporators is uneven, and the evaporator mass flow rate applied larger heat load is smaller. Increase the max heat load difference will enhance the flow non- uniformity. 2) Increasing the height difference between evaporators and condenser can alleviate the uneven flow caused by asymmetric load. 3) When applied dynamic heat load, the system response quickly, and result is same to steady result, that the evaporator mass flow rate is opposite to the applied heat load.
