Modeling and estimating of thermal-electrical coupling performance and degradation in space power supply systems
The power supply system in space plays a crucial role in determining the operational lifespan of spacecraft while in orbit. Studying the comprehensive performance and degradation process of the system is challenging due to various influencing factors. This paper presents a dynamic model that examines the thermal-electrical coupling performance of the space power supply system. Additionally, a degradation assessment strategy has been developed to investigate the degradation mechanism of battery packs under the compounded effects. The analysis also considers the effect of packing on the energy storage battery pack. The thermal-electrical coupling model and degradation strategy have undergone numerical evaluation, demonstrating their ability to effectively simulate the performance changes and degradation of the space power supply system. The comprehensive thermal-electrical investigation offers a novel outlook on the on-orbit space power supply system. This study aims to enhance the operational reliability of satellite space power supply systems, particularly energy storage battery packs, in challenging space working conditions.
