Modeling method for simulating electrical load system of civil aircraft based on CPU-FPGA

Considering the severe environment and load conditions that the aircraft may be in different flight phases, for different power supply modes of the aircraft, it is necessary to conduct electrical load and power capacity analysis on full-aircraft to confirm that the power supply capacity of power system meets the power demand of utility system and can support the design work of power supply system. Due to the difficulty in achieving smaller step simulation calculations based on CPU real-time simulators for power system and electrical load system simulation modeling, it is necessary to use hybrid step simulation based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and CPU (Central Processing Unit). The full-aircraft contains various power sources as well as a large amount of loads, and the resource consumption of FPGA has become a limiting factor for simulation scale. A modeling method suitable for CPU-FPGA joint simulation is proposed to address this problem, and a joint simulation platform for electric load systems is built. The load system is divided into CPU part and FPGA part, and the optimized load classification modeling is used in FPGA part to reduce the occupancy of hardware resources. Finally, the simulation results based on Matlab/Simulink proves that the method can guarantee the simulation accuracy.
