Research on the Influence of Digital Economy Development on Urban-Rural Consumption Gap and the Narrowing Strategy

数字经济已经成为推动经济高质量发展的重要驱动力。研究以我国2013~2022年相关指标数据为样本，采用熵值法测算数字经济发展水平、泰尔指数衡量城乡消费差距，利用描述统计方法、Pearson相关性分析、分层回归分析开展研究，发现2013~2022年间我国城乡消费差距逐步减小、数字经济发展水平显著提升，数字经济发展与城乡居民消费差距为高度负相关关系，数字经济发展水平是城乡居民消费差距的显著影响因素。因此，应加快数字经济基础设施建设、加强数字经济知识普及教育、打造农村数字产业创新发展及优化城乡数字经济协同政策以提高数字经济发展、缩小城乡消费差距。The digital economy is now a major factor in advancing superior economic development. Based on the data of China’s relevant indicators from 2013 to 2022, this study measures the digital economy’s level of development using the entropy approach and the consumption gap between urban and rural areas using the Theil index, and uses descriptive statistics method, Pearson correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis to carry out the research. According to the findings, between 2013 and 2022, China’s consumption gap between urban and rural areas shrank gradually while the country’s digital economy developed significantly better. Furthermore, there was a significant negative correlation between the development of the digital economy and the consumption gap between urban and rural residents. Thus, to enhance the development of the digital economy and reduce the consumption gap between urban and rural areas, we should expedite the building of digital economy infrastructure, strengthen the popularization of digital economy knowledge, and foster the innovative development of the rural digital industry.
