Photometric modulation-commutation meter of luminescent radiation intensity
Photoluminescence processes are of great interest for medical and biological research. They are associated with the excitation of the own optical radiation of the studied objects when they are irradiated with an external infrared or ultraviolet light stream. The nature of the glow of tissues and organs changes noticeably as a result of some diseases. Complex and expensive equipment is used to analyze luminescence signals. The article proposes the structure and algorithm of the intensity meter of induced luminescent radiation. The proposed scheme allows observing both Stokes and anti-Stokes photoluminescence of the object under study. Periodic modulation of the light flux followed by switching-modulation transformation provides an increase in the sensitivity of the meter. The meter can be used for operative diagnosis of the pathological state of biological tissues in oncology, dermatology and other areas of practical medicine. The presented article consists of 3 sections. In the first part, the current state of the task of measuring the intensity of induced optical radiation is considered and the direction of research is formulated. The second section describes the functional scheme and algorithm of the proposed fluorescence intensity meter. It is shown that the use of switching-modulation transformation allows to increase the sensitivity of measurement transformations. The main achieved results are presented in the third section.
