Selected issues of the pathogenesis of anemic syndrome in rheumatological patients
Anemia, which is a condition associated with a decrease in hemoglobin levels in the blood, is often found in patients with rheumatological diseases. An important point is to understand the pathogenesis of anemia characteristic of this category of patients (anemia of chronic disease, hemolytic, iron deficiency, hypoplastic, and others), to identify their main causes, pathognomonic symptoms, methods of di-agnosis and treatment. Understanding the pathogenesis of anemia is necessary to choose the optimal in-dividual methods of their correction, due to the pronounced negative effect of anemia on the course of the underlying disease, the quality of life of patients, and the tolerability of basic therapy. Early detection and correction of anemia are im-portant for improving the general condition of patients with chronic rheumatological diseases and preventing life-threatening complications.
