Development of an Enhanced Risk Management System Utilizing Risk-Based Methods for Construction Defect Control in Industrial Plant Projects

This study introduces a novel Risk Management System for Construction using a Risk-Based Method (RBM), aimed at enhancing safety and efficiency in the construction industry. Amidst increasing construction challenges due to rapid urbanization, traditional risk management approaches have proven inadequate, particularly in addressing recurrent defects and safety issues. This research integrates Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies into construction, developing a specialized risk assessment module and a web-based management program. The module systematically evaluates construction risks, while the web-based system facilitates real-time monitoring and management. This innovative approach transcends conventional empirical methods, offering a structured process for risk identification, assessment, and mitigation. By leveraging digital technologies, the system aligns safety with project efficiency. This contribution to mechanical engineering, particularly in construction risk management, establishes a new standard for construction risk management, revolutionizing traditional practices.
