PHOTOLUMINESCENCE STUDIES OF YAlO3 DOPED WITH VARIOUS CONCENTRATIONS OF Eu3+

Yttrium Aluminate Perovskite (YAP) (YAlO3) doped with various concentration of Eu3+ was prepared using solid-state reaction method.Photoluminescence Emission spectra of prepared samples exhibited two prominent peaks centered at 590 nm and 630 nm, which may be attributed to the transitions (5D0 7F2) and (5D0 7F4) respectively of Eu3+ ions.The CIE coordinate of the sample with optimum PL emission was found as (0.58, 0.41) which lies in Orange Red region.Therefore the phosphors prepared may be a good candidate for LED application.
