Comparative Study of Envelope and TKEO Demodulation Techniques for detecting Rotor bar breakage using Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA)
this study provides a comparative examination of two demodulation methods, the envelope technique and the Teager-Kaiser Energy Operator (TKEO), for identifying rotor bar breakage in induction motors via Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA). The investigation focuses on the challenge of detecting rotor bar faults at low slip conditions due to the leakage of the supply frequency. Experimental tests were conducted under various load conditions to evaluate the performance of both techniques. The results highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each method in accurately detecting broken rotor bars, providing valuable insights for fault diagnosis in induction motors.
