Sustainable Digital Communication (SDC) from a Systems Perspective of Mediated Communication Processes in Business Organizations: A Basis for a Mathematical Model
This study aims to develop a conceptual model for the Sustainable Digital Communication (SDC) construct, which in the context of this research, posits the idea of integrating sustainable principles and strategic practices of digital preservation to the mediated communication processes in business organizations. To be able to develop the SDC model, it is necessary to draw out a systemic view of the mediated communication processes existing within the organization. The systemic view will help identify the components of the SDC approach and will establish the viability of the said model as a conduit system where strategic sustainable practices of digital preservation can be integrated. To explore this possibility, the study will examine the significant relationships among the four pre-identified aspects of business organizations: social, economic, organizational, and digital environment. A Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach was utilized to assess the data using the additional module of Jamovi for SEM. An Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was conducted to identify the significant underlying factors for the SDC model. The output of the study is a pyramid-shape model which illustrates four significant relationships out of the six hypotheses initially proposed.
