Assesement of wind energy potential at Ouargula and setif, Algeria
In this paper, a study of wind behaviour, wind distribution and power density in Ouargula and Sétif was investigated using 3-hour wind speed data over 6 years, from 2018 to 2023. The Weibull distribution was used to estimate the wind potential at the selected sites, and the maximum likelihood method was then employed to determine the Weibull parameters. The study conducted 50 m from ground indicates that Ouargula has an mean potential, with an average monthly wind speed equal to $5.5402(\mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s})$ and an average monthly power density of $\mathbf{1 1 3. 0 7 6 1}$ $\left(W / m^{2}\right)$. Sétif, meanwhile, has an average monthly wind speed of $4.9231(\mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s})$ and an average monthly power density of 73.7313 ($W / m^{2}$).
