Integrating Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator in Optimal Power Flow Solutions using Grey Wolf Optimization and Particle Swarm Optimization
This paper presents a comprehensive study on the application of metaheuristic optimization techniques, namely Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), for solving the Optimal Power Flow (OPF) problem in power systems, with the incorporation of a Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC). The objective is to minimize total fuel cost while maintaining voltage stability, reducing transmission losses, and satisfying operational constraints. Extensive simulations on the IEEE 30-bus test system, the results are compared with existing literature benchmarks. The study is implemented using MATLAB application, demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.
