Design and Assessment of a New Smart Hybrid MPPT Strategy for Sustainable Solar System Application
Many studies have been carried out on the Maximum Power-Point (MPP) tracker, where several methods have been proposed in the literature to improve and achieve the MPP of a photovoltaic (PV) generator smoothly. The main objective of this research paper is to comprehensively analyze the performance of three different algorithms, namely Perturb and Observe (P&O), Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC), and Hybrid FuzzyP&O (HF-P&O) under different weather conditions. The three explored algorithms are utilized to simulate and assess the analyzed solar system using the MATLAB/Simulink environment tool. The results of the comparison showed the effectiveness of the designed HF-P&O controller in achieving faster response and lower power loss, as well as lower steady-state oscillation, compared with the non-hybrid P&O and FLC algorithms.
