Model Free Predictive Current Control of a Matrix Converter fed Induction Motor
The Matrix Converter (MC) stands out as a compelling solution, featuring bidirectional switches that facilitate a direct connection between power source and load, free from the requirement of components for energy storage. The article discusses the implementation of model-free predictive current control strategies to achieve energy-efficient induction motor speed control that is fed by MC. The approach substitutes the dynamic model of stator current with an ultra-local model in order to eliminate motor parameter dependence. The simulation results demonstrate superior performance in current harmonics, tracking error, and tuning efficiency compared to the traditional PI controller.
