Design of Beamforming Antenna Using Rotman Lens For 10GHz-Wireless Applications

This paper proposes a beamforming antenna with a Rotman lens design for wireless applications. The lens compact in design, includes a lens body with four beam ports, seven array ports, and two dummy ports The beamforming antenna element is designed with Rogers $\mathrm{RO} / 4350 \mathrm{~B}$ substrate. To achieve the beamforming network. To control every beam, the fork-shaped antennas are placed beneath the array ports of the Rotman lens, consequently leading to the miniaturization of the Rotman lens antenna. Moreover, a configuration operating at $10 \mathrm{G H z}$ has been developed. The simulated of Rotman lens antenna provides a scanning range from -61° to +61° in the azimuthal plane, The results demonstrate the system’s capability to beam at four different angles: $-60^{\circ},-23^{\circ},+23^{\circ}$, and +60°. S-parameters at $10 \mathrm{G H z}$ of the beam ports $\lt-10 \mathrm{~dB}$ across the operating bandwidth. A cost-effective solution for 10 GHz wireless communications applications is presented by the designed forming system.
