Research on Inertia Evaluation Method for Large Receiving-End Power Systems under the Background of New Power System

With the acceleration of global energy transition, the new-type power system, characterized by its cleanliness, low carbon emissions, and high efficiency, has emerged as a crucial development direction for future energy systems. However, the large-scale integration of renewable energy generation units has significantly altered the system inertia characteristics, posing challenges to the stable operation of power systems. This paper reviews the research progress in inertia assessment methods for large-scale receiving-end power systems under the background of new-type power systems, focusing on model-based, data-driven, and hybrid inertia assessment techniques. Furthermore, it discusses the challenges faced and future development directions. By providing this comprehensive overview, the paper aims to offer reference and inspiration for researchers and practitioners in the field of power system inertia assessment.
