An Intelligent Energy Control of a Grid Connected PV System with PWM Converter Fault-Tolerant Strategy to Maintain the Service Continuity
In grid-connected PV systems, the 3-phase VSI (Voltage Source Inverter) is the centerpiece of PCS (Power Conditioning System). A PWM VSI malfunction leads to system disconnection. This work is realized in this context and proposes an intelligent control of a solar station energy with an algorithm-based fault tolerance to achieve a rapid diagnosis of 400 kW PWM VSI IGBT O-CF (Open-Circuit Fault) for maintaining the service continuity. In this test, the suggested method takes only a few ten seconds for fault diagnosis and converter reconfiguration. Therefore, the PV system can function in grid integrated state and produce power during fault operation mode without any risk of damage.
