A Compact Single-Step Staircase-Shaped Implantable Antenna for Application Biomedical at 5.8 GHz
This paper presents a compact, single-step, staircase-shaped monopole implantable antenna designed for application biomedical in the 5.8 GHz ISM band. The proposed antenna is fed by a microstrip line and simulated using HFSS (High-Frequency Simulation Software) software. It is printed on a Rogers RO3210 substrate with dimensions of $10 \times 12 \mathrm{~mm}^{2}$, a thickness of 0.75 mm, a relative permittivity of 10.2, and a loss tangent of 0.003. The design consists of a single-step staircase-shaped patch on both sides of the patch with a central slot. The antenna operates within a bandwidth of 5.47 GHz to 6.27 GHz (0.80 GHz), achieving a reflection loss of -10 dB, a maximum gain of 4.3 dBi, and a radiation efficiency of approximately 98%. Its compact size and high efficiency make it suitable for various applications biomedical.
