Optimizing UAV Trajectory for 5G/6G Service Support during Disaster Events using K-means Clustering and Rotation-based Algorithm
Disasters can disrupt critical infrastructure and communication networks, complicating the coordination and assistance efforts of emergency responders. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are a promising solution for supporting communication networks during such events, offering flexibility, rapid deployment, and coverage in areas where traditional infrastructure is damaged or inaccessible. However, optimizing UAV trajectories to efficiently support 5G/6G services in disaster scenarios remains challenging. This paper presents an innovative approach that combines K-means clustering with a rotation-based algorithm to optimize UAV trajectories for 5G/6G service support.
