A Hemispherical Dielectric Resonator Antenna with two Slots For 5G-Millimeter Wave Applications

A dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is very popular in wireless communications due to its special characteristics. This work presents a dielectric resonator antenna designed for 5 G millimeter-wave applications. The proposed antenna is excited by two slots through a microstrip feedline and is evaluated using High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software. The total antenna size is $5 \times 4 \times 0.8 \mathrm{~mm}^{3}$. Simulation results indicate that the proposed antenna offers an impedance bandwidth of 37.14 to 47.14 GHz for 5 G millimeter-wave wireless communication systems, with a gain of 5.89 dB and an efficiency of over 99%.
