A Dual-Field Coupled Dynamic Model for Optimizing Compressed Air Energy Storage System Performance and Fault Diagnosis
As global energy demand rises and renewable energy integration increases, electrical grids face growing challenges in balancing supply and demand. Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) technology has emerged as a promising solution to enhance grid stability by storing excess energy during low-demand periods and releasing it during peak loads. This research focuses on optimizing the dynamic performance of CAES systems by constructing a dual-field coupled dynamic model that integrates both aerodynamic and thermal processes. The study applies a modular modeling approach to simulate key components, including the compressor, air storage tanks, turbine, and heat storage tanks. By leveraging advanced methodologies from recent studies on adiabatic CAES systems, the model aims to improve system efficiency and dynamic response. Fault mechanisms, characteristic parameters, and operational modes are analyzed to ensure safe and reliable system operation. The simulation results reveal crucial insights into the thermodynamic behavior of the system, providing a foundation for optimization and fault diagnosis.
