Performance Analysis of Smooth Real Twisting Sliding Mode Control for Dynamic Voltage Restorer in Mitigating Voltage Fluctuations
The requirement for enhancing power quality in distribution systems has increased, which has improved the economically and technically efficient development of the power sectors. This research study addresses voltage sags/swells and related THD in secondary distribution systems by presenting a fused control approach for the Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) of a Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR). To successfully mitigate the effects of these power quality concerns, the control technique integrates Sliding Mode Control (SMC) with the Smooth Real-Twisting Algorithm (SRTA). The total harmonic distortion (THD) of a voltage disturbance may be detected and decreased by the smooth real twisting sliding mode controller (SRTSMC) in less than two milliseconds, and THD stays below 5% in all simulated scenarios, according to simulation experiments conducted using MATLAB/Simulink. Comparative analysis reveals that the suggested SRTSMC method outperforms the conventional SMC in terms of performance.
