Design of a Robust Controller using Lyapunov Function for DFIG Wind Turbines

This paper presents the design and implementation of a robust controller for Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) wind turbines using the Lyapunov function to ensure the system’s asymptotic global stability and robustness against disturbances and parameter uncertainties. The objective of this study is to improve the conventional backstepping controller (BCS-Controller) by incorporating an integral action (INT-BCS-Controller) to minimize static error and enhance the performance and reliability of DFIG systems under varying wind conditions. Simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink demonstrate the proposed controller’s effectiveness in regulating the electrical output of DFIG wind turbines, making it a promising solution for modern wind energy systems.
