Religious Perspectives and Convictions of International Students in South Korea: A Case Study of Chonnam National University
Migration is closely related to religious affiliation, which reflects the ethnic and cultural identity of migrants. Religion plays a significant role in all migration stages and serves as a source of support for their adaptation as migrants face various challenges including culture shock, language barriers, and discrimination. This study examined the religious beliefs and sociocultural adaptation process of international students at Chonnam University using SPSS 25 software to assess the relationship between religiosity, national tolerance and perceptions of inter-ethnic relations. The findings revealed that international students maintained their religious traditions in the face of social change in the host country and showed high tolerance towards other religions, especially in a multicultural environment, which highlights the need to create conditions for successful integration into a new cultural environment.
