Application of Delphi Technique in Determining the Potential Criteria of Substation Site Selection
Sustainable energy decision-makers utilise the multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) technique to exclude the complexity of the situation. It is essential for the MCDA to have evaluation framework for the examination. The Delphi technique is a creative and efficient method of conducting research. The important steps are designing questionnaires, selecting experts, defining of consensus and how to determine nonconsensus; deciding on the sample size; and challenging data analysis. In this paper, the Delphi technique was applied on determining the potential criteria for substation site selection. The main criteria were environmental, technical, economic, and social with their respective sub-criteria. It was found that the technique useful in collecting expert opinion on how to select a site for constructing substation or switching station.
