MODERN MARAL BREEDING AS A FACTOR OF REGION COMPETITIVENESS

The article contains a strategic analysis of the development of maral breeding on the example of the Altai Republic. In the work, the authors considered external and regional factors influencing the development of the maral breeding complex. There is an analysis of the factors that form competitive and competitive potentials, and the role of environmental potential in this process is shown. The authors analyzed the current state and trends in the development of the industry. There is an allocation of existing state support measures that contribute to the sustainable development of maral breeding. A separate study is devoted to the analysis of public interest in the Altai Republic and the development of maral breeding. Despite the high level of popularity of user requests on the Internet on topics about marals, their content is characterized more by topics related to consumption: purchase of products, use as active biological additives, etc. This analysis shows a low level of readiness to implement the concept of sustainable development. Based on the statistical data obtained, the authors have developed a strategy for the further development of maral breeding in the Altai Republic. A study conducted in relation to the strategic management zone showed that increasing the number of marals is not an attractive strategy at the moment. However, the greatest opportunities are presented in using an innovative method of preserving antler products and creating a biopharmaceutical cluster of antler products in the Altai Republic called “PantAltai”. An innovative approach to the conservation of antler products and the creation of a biopharmaceutical cluster represent a promising direction for the development of maral breeding in the Altai Republic. The implementation of these strategies will improve the efficiency of management, attract new investments and unlock the potential of maral breeding in the region.
