Reliability study of multiple state system based on competitive failure
Considering the competing failure processes and multi-state characteristics of complex systems, the semi-Markov model is used to simulate degradation process, delineating transitions between different system state performances. Additionally, the probability level of the system's instantaneous resident state is specified. Leveraging the general generating function, a multi-state reliability analysis model is established. It postulates that random shocks influence the probability of a state transition occurring, with the magnitude of damage depended on the shockproofness and the probability of system aging. Consequently, system failure due to cracking, Thus, this process causes competition failure. Here, take a turbine electrical power generating system for example, and its reliability is analyzed, the results of analysis demonstrate that the feasibility of the proposed method and highlighting the necessity of accounting for competitive failure processes in reliability assessments.
