Integrating AgNi and MoO2 nanoparticles on nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes with enhanced catalytic performance

Recently, the bimetallic AgNi alloy nanoparticles(NPs) have garnered considerable attention due to their exceptional properties. Herein in this work, we reported the synthesis of AgNi nano-alloy and MoO 2 NPs loaded on nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (MoO 2 @C-AgNi) through the combination of self-sacrificial template method with N 2 -protected thermal treatment. Owing to bimetallic AgNi, MoO 2 components as well as 1D tube-like structural advantages, the MoO 2 @C-AgNi nanocomposites demonstrated significantly enhanced catalytic efficiency in comparison to monometallic MoO 2 @C-Ni nanocomposites for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol(4-NP), maintaining their superior catalytic performance even after six consecutive cycles. Moreover, benefited from their facile separation by external magnet and their consequent recyclability, the resultant MoO 2 @C-AgNi composites exhibited promising potential for practical utilization on wastewater treatment. This research could potentially pave the way for the utilization of these bimetallic nanostructures in various catalytic applications. A tube-like N-doped porous carbon nanomaterials uniformly coated with well-proportioned bimetallic AgNi alloys and MoO2 nanoparticles(MoO2@C-AgNi) has been obtained by a facile and valid MoO3-assisted self-sacrificing template strategy, which can be the effective catalysts for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol.
