Evaluation of the Electrochemical Performance of Spinel-Structured Catalyst ZnCo2O4 Using Spectroscopic Analysis
Due to the age of fossil fuels brought about unprecedented environmental challenges due to the accumulation of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. As a result, we need to transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. At the forefront of endeavors to attain this overarching objective lies hydrogen, offering a feasible alternative devoid of deleterious pollutants. Its production via water electrolysis presents a viable pathway towards green energy solutions. This research introduce a novel methodology for synthesizing catalysts tailored specifically for optimizing oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in water electrolysis. Through meticulous analysis utilizing techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and Raman Spectroscopy, the synthesis process of the catalyst is comprehensively validated. Furthermore, the superiority of the catalyst are substantiated through ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). By shedding light on the characteristics and performance of the synthesized catalyst, this study not only contributes to the advancement of electrochemical technologies but also paves the way for the development of efficient batteries and electrolyzers. Ultimately, this research represents a significant stride towards realizing a sustainable energy landscape, mitigating the adverse impacts of fossil fuel consumption.
