The Directional Changes in the Webtoon <Lookism> by Time Period
This paper focuses on analyzing <Lookism>, paying attention to how shots, angles, frames, and perspectives change over time. Close-up and bust shots were frequently used, while eye-level and high-angle shots were predominant. Dutch angles mostly appeared in flashback scenes or in scenes that needed to be remembered. The frequency of horizontal frames increased, which were used to portray the characters' objective present situation, whereas four-sided frames depicted their inner thoughts or assumptions. Frameless cuts often used full shots, eye-level angles, and front views to objectively and accurately convey scenes to the reader. The most frequent perspectives were front and third-person views, with no significant changes over time. The shots and angles in <Lookism> fluctuated greatly before 2020, but starting from 2021, they showed more consistent patterns overall.
