Evaluation of 2- versus 3-Point Timed Measurements of Plasma Iohexol Clearance in Kidney Transplant Donors
Introduction: Prior to kidney donation, donor function is measured to ensure the donor will have sufficient function post-donation. Donor mGFR was previously measured by iohexol plasma clearance calculated before donation using raw plasma iohexol clearance measured at 2- and 4- hours post administration. Potential error may be introduced when assigning a line of fit to two-point measurement of iohexol. We hypothesize that increasing the timed measurements of plasma iohexol clearance from two to three time-points will demonstrate a difference in calculated mGFR, and thus perceived donor renal function.
