Enhancing Resistance to Wetting Transition through the Concave Structures (Adv. Mater. 1/2025)
Superhydrophobic Concave Pillar In article number 2409389, Dong Woog Lee and co-workers report a stable superhydrophobic surface achieved through a novel concave morphology design. The concave pillar structures enhance resistance to wetting transitions under both impact and hydrostatic pressure. The air trapped in the concavities during water contact plays a crucial role in maintaining stable superhydrophobicity by forming a convex air cap.
