Calibration study of a silicon drift detector on a monoenergetic X-ray radiation device

A monoenergy X-ray calibration setup based on Bragg diffraction has the advantages of continuous energy adjustability and excellent monochromaticity, which can provide detailed calibration experiments for detectors with selectable energies. Monte Carlo simulation software was used to simulate the detection efficiency of the silicon drift detector, obtaining the detection efficiency in the (10~40) keV energy band. Calibration experiments for the detection efficiency of the silicon drift detector were carried out on a monoenergetic X-ray calibration setup, and the experimentally measured detection efficiencies were obtained which were compared with the simulated efficiency curves. The error between the experimental and simulated results is minimized to 4.63 % at 40 keV. Factors affecting the calibration experiment include whether the beam spot is completely received by the detector and the shielding effect of the detector itself. The detection efficiency of the silicon drift detector can be improved by reducing the aperture of the beam-limiting diaphragm in the future.
