Structural design of a small module spur cylindrical gear measuring instrument based on machine vision measurement

In response to the demand for fast and high-precision measurement of small and medium-sized module spur gears, this paper develops a machine vision based measurement instrument for small and medium-sized module spur gears. The system includes two parts: the mechanical structure of the measuring instrument and the visual measuring device. Among them, the mechanical structure includes the selection of high-precision angle indexing plates, fixture structure design and strength verification, column and marble platform design and verification, as well as the design of X, Y, and Z axis position adjustment mechanisms; The visual measurement device includes: camera lens, CCD camera, LED backlight, and selection of data acquisition card. On this basis, the working principle and design steps of a small module spur cylindrical gear measuring instrument based on machine vision measurement are discussed; Finally, models were constructed for key components such as the core shaft, X-axis lead screw, Y-axis lead screw, and Z-axis lead screw, and finite element analysis was conducted using SoildWorks software. The experimental results showed that this method can meet the design requirements.
