Design of position sensorless high-speed PMSM controller based on FPGA

Aiming at the development requirements of miniaturization and high performance of motor controller, a miniaturized high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) controller without position sensors based on FPGA is designed in this paper. The motor controller uses a three-phase full-bridge inverter circuit to drive and control the PMSM to achieve a rated speed of 60000r/min. The motor controller replaces the position sensors to realize the motor commutation detection by means of back electromotive force(back-EMF) zero-crossing detection, and realizes the motor three-phase winding current detection by sampling and reconstructing the bus current. The three-stage starting control method is adopted by the motor controller to achieve high reliability starting of the PMSM. Finally, the stable control of a PMSM with a rated speed of 60000 r/min is realized. The start-stop tests and running-in tests were designed to verify high reliability and speed stability control of the motor controller in this paper. The results of the start-stop tests and running-in tests show that the motor controller not only can control the PMSM to achieve high reliability start-stop control function, but also can achieve short-term and long-term stability control of 60000 r/min speed. The speed stability of PMSM has good consistency and is between 4.32×10−7and 4.5×10−7.
