Analysis and comparison of the effect of phase error on three quadrature suppression methods

The quadrature error caused by micromachining is the key factor affecting the performance of gyroscope. To eliminate the quadrature error, the closed-loop quadrature suppression methods is usually adopted. However, closed-loop quadrature suppression is easily affected by phase errors. This paper analyses and compares the effect of phase error on three quadrature error suppression methods. The composition of zero-rate output of gyroscope after quadrature suppression with phase error is analysed by theoretical derivation. The theoretical analysis results show that there is no quadrature error in the zero-rate output of the quadrature coupling stiffness correction method after quadrature suppression, and the correction effect is the best among the three methods. The experimental results show that the theoretical analysis is correct, and the variation of the zero-rate output in full temperature range of the gyroscope decreases from 0.05 deg/s to less than 0.01 deg/s after the quadrature coupling stiffness correction.
